Dog walk diaries: Taking it back
Of late (last few weeks), the windows of time have been narrow so I have posted and run on a few occasions. Generally I try to stick around and answer comments because I think there is value in the responses close to reading time but it isn't always possible. I do get to most comments though soon enough, but for those who post and run often, don't leave comments unattended too long.
What is pretty cool about being on Steem and will have increasing value going forward, is that the ecosystem forces learning and thinking. It forces consideration of concepts that affect us but we often outsource the thinking and actions of with one big one being economics
Despite how often we might talk about money, taxes, investments and economic conditions, very few of us are clear on what is actually involved. This isn't just about education although that could definitely be improved, it is our experience with these things.
Since so many of the functions are handled via government and bank proxies, we don't get a good view of how all the pieces for together. We feel affected, we feel oppressed by the decisions made and powerless yet, do not understand what has led to these conditions. Sweeping statements of blame might cover it but, the details of how and why are missing.
I see this gap in understanding as part of the control mechanisms as even though we are getting screwed, we don't have the knowledge of exactly how or, what we can do about it. This is going to have to change if we the people are ever going to be able to fundamentally shift conditions.
Although the cryptosphere encourages individual economic responsibility, Steem has the added benefit of tying it into a tangible community that we can influence in various ways. It allows a view into the moving parts of an economy and because it is filled with a diverse range of humans, it mimics the real world quite closely.
All the greed and scam can be found out one looks but also all the beauty of action and charity too. The more we observe and understand Steem, the more personal tools we have to influence our real works at a local level.
Many take the view that blockchain and crypto is their way out of financial struggle but to really do that completely, it is actually the way into a much deeper world of economics and responsibility. This is a new economy, a new way and that way is a philosophical buy-in to a system that forces deeper understanding abd learning.
It is taking back control of our personal values and rather than separating ourselves by imaginary borders, it is the development of a global economic system we all have stake in, and communities we all have a responsibility to.
The coming revolution doesn't require weapons, although I am quite sure there will be violence, it requires thought and development of understanding. This community is probably the best place to not only learn, but practise what needs to be done.
Pretty good opportunity to be a part of the real world.

We are all early adopters so we need to prepare how to become enablers and facilitators of the coming revolution so while we learn we need to know that engagement with all users will be required to drive the value upward!
Yep. It is going to be interesting as essentially the people who are the small fish now will be the big fish to come as price increases. That comes with a new set of responsibilities which includes fielding complaints :)
For me it's mostly the potential to move technology forward in the world. And with that, many new things become possible. I also want to push this evolution as much as possible towards things I find positive. I might not influence it much, but at least it's something.
Technology is the facilitator of change and this one allows us to organise ourselves in very large numbers.
Yes. And I see blockchain as a key component for many new things. E.g. with AI. AI will be doing more and more things without human intervention (getting data from all kinds of sources). Plus it's self learning. We will need an immutable database to log all the actions. So we can do audits on it etc Blockchain is a very good fit there.
That revolution and that real world with which you end up will only be strengthened and growing, as long as people do their part so that this union between that blockchain and crypto can continue to prosper, since that behavior will depend many things on the near future.
Hi Taraz. I agree we need to understand Steem fully to realize what we actually have and the tools needed to make it all happen. There are probably hundreds of things that need to change for a revolution but we must take it one day at a time.
Small steps, one foot in front of the other. I have a feeling that this is going to have a quickening effect and as momentum builds, it will happen very fast if it does. Same as onboarding here or price, it can happen very rapidly.
I also think when it happens it will happen quickly. I think price is only going to go nuts early next year as I really do believe the markets are being manipulated more than we realize.
