Cake for breakfast

A little post as I am getting ready to pack up from the day of work. It is my wife's birthday today so I should probably be home earlier but luckily, I have a secret weapon planned. Sushi. I got a gift card for my birthday in March to a nice sushi place and since we can never arrange a babysitter, we are going to use it tonight and watch The Battle of Winterfell after our daughter falls to sleep.

The picture is of a cake that was made and delivered by my sister-in-law last night and it was pretty darn delicious. It is only a couple times a week that I get to have chocolate mudcake for breakfast... It was a bit sad that while we ate this beautiful looking cake our daughter was having a disgusting potato and soy milk porridge - and enjoying it. She has surprisingly never asked us to try anything at all but she always asks us if we are enjoying whatever we happen to be eating.

As I said last night, I bought a book and a dress for my wife and this morning my daughter (who is terrible at keeping secrets) sang happy birthday to her. The book was one that she actually wants to read and, the dress fit well and she will wear it to her nephew's high school graduation in a few weeks. So, I don't have to return it. It is hard to find nice dresses for her because - she is a kid's size. And not even a very big kid.

Well, I plan on writing in the evening after everyone goes to bed like normal but for now, I will shut the laptop and switch off the lights for the night. Tomorrow, I might come in a little late to make up for it :)
