Well, that is a market hammering unseen for a little while, but not unexpected. I hadn't checked the markets again for a few days but realized comments on some accounts were down so figured there was something.

At least Tether is up.

I know I am crazy for thinking it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that crypto prices are not reflective of projects at all.

I wonder who is getting stressed by the price. At least for me on Steem and with Steem, price matters very little at this stage other than for the ability to buy, since I don't sell. And of course, as it drops more there is less competition on the pool so earnings can increase a little.

At times like these it is always the same and the naysayers will come out of the woodwork and claim Steem is a failure. That is okay. Failure is not what most people think it is.

What most people believe is the failure of Steem is when it doesn't live up to their expectations of what they themselves consider success under the assumption they are correct. This goes for content rewards too where people assume because they put effort in or their post is "better" than another, they deserve payment.

It is really easy and has only three steps to it.

But Steem is worthless, so don't bother. It is funny for all the people claiming the worthlessness of Steem, they don't mind extracting all they can. You know, it is possible to post and decline rewards? Ah... Your "ethics" don't stretch that far - you still want more of that worthless Steem.

It is interesting though because now we are at the point where everyone was going to buy Steem. Got your money ready?

Probably not, because to buy Steem one had to have disposable income and that generally means a job and some kind of money management skills to have some left over at the end of the month that doesn't go on beer, wine and cigarettes. Funny how few seem to manage to have a few coins left over to invest.

EOS is down 30% - buy that. Are you buying anything?

Lots of people positive on the future of crypto as long as they can get their crypto for free.

No one wants to waste actual money on this nonsense. I am pretty certain that those who invest in are on average going to outperform all of the people who are trying to scam every tiny faucet they can.

Is that even worth setting the bot up for? But then who knows, 10 years from now the curation earnings from that tiny little starting amount could be worth enough to make the automated process worth it. It was only 10 years back that Bitcoin was worth less than Steem is now.

Small steps add up to large movements and while some might think nothing is happening on Steem, there are many small steps in many directions taking place and those who are able to make it through the volatility and FUD intact, will do well, if things fall into place.

If they don't fall into place, it has been fun being part of something that if they had, could have changed the world. Better to have Steemed and lost than to never have Steemed at all.

But then, I don't buy into that nonsense and am optimistic on the future of the platform and the value it will being its users of all levels and, not just in financial returns. At some point, people are going to enjoy being here, the tokens are just a nice bonus that could buy a coke or a car, depending on the timing and effort level.

Well, I see a red bar and want to paint it green, but I don't mind waiting til the last of the weak hands loses grip. Just like any mass movement of change, holders of belief are needed as they are the ones who will act toward the future they believe in.

You know who aren't remembered in time?

The critics.

Luckily whether positive or negative, the Steem blockchain never forgets.
