The Diary Game 7/9/2024 The Echoes of the Past.😇

Good evening, everyone. I hope you all had a great day! I'd like to share a bit about my day yesterday.

I started the morning with my usual time of prayer before getting out of bed. Afterward, I went to feed the fowls, as I had a lot to accomplish that day.

My tasks began with washing the dishes, followed by a thorough house cleaning, which involved wiping down chairs and cupboards. Once that was done, I headed out to help my mother clean her classroom in preparation for the new school term starting on Monday.

This classroom happens to be in the Government Bilingual Primary School, my alma mater. Walking through those gates brought back so many memories. The school has grown in size and is now much better suited for children to play.

Back in my day, as part of the first batch of students, the environment was different. There were tree roots everywhere, making it unsafe to run around, though the stubborn among us which I use to be the leader, hahaha would still managed to play and often got scrapes and bruises. There were no proper fences, and water often pooled in the schoolyard. Today, it's more secure, with a gate and better facilities.

After we finished cleaning, my mom and I took a moment to pray. Education, in my view, is the foundation of every nation, and teachers carry one of the greatest responsibilities there is. They listen, teach, correct, and believe in us, all while needing wisdom, strength, understanding, and patience to carry out their work successfully. That's why it frustrates me to see people entering the teaching profession without a passion for it, as is often the case here. We can see the results of unmotivated teachers in the quality of students today. Many seem to treat teaching as merely a job rather than a calling, and it reflects in the lackluster output. I keep praying and hoping that those who choose this field will take it to heart because the future of our community, and even our nation, depends on it.

Returning to the school felt deeply nostalgic. After that, I headed home to finish up some more tasks around the house, grabbed a bite to eat, and took a bath.

Later in the evening, I went to visit my aunt, and after that, I wrapped up the day by watching the Cameroon match.
