The most beautiful city in Croatia
Antic Roman ruins, clear sea and a variety of restaurants and clubs are what describes Split, the second largest Croatian town located in Dalmatia.
Thanks to a number of numerous low-cost flights, Split is buzzing with tourists from all over the world.
Chosen by the Roman Emperor Diocletian as his city of residence, Split is the home of his 1700 year old Palace listed as Unesco world heritage. The Palace is located in the ancient city centre and feels sort of a city inside a city. White colossal construction and Roman columns are mixed with modern bars and restaurants. You can literally have coffee on the Roman ruins.
If you are a Game of Thrones fan, you might be interested in the fact that Khaleesi kept her dragons in the dungeons of the Diocletian Palace.
The people of Split claim their city is the most beautiful in the world and after 3 days in Split you will think the same.

Wow, @tammizzle these photos are absolutely gorgeous. Really love what you did with the edits as well. The architecture reminds me of Venice, Italy although the water here looks so much nicer.
