I Am Not A'Mused!!
Why is it that my best ideas occur during times when I am otherwise occupied? Like driving to work or in the shower? When I am engaging with a customer, talking with my doctor or out on a dinner date?
Sometimes it's just downright inconvenient to grab a notebook and start scribbling. As I get older, my ability to recall ideas from short term memory gets tougher. Lists and notes become invaluable. Hastily penned post-it notes wind up scattered all about with half sentences scrawled across their faces.
Once that spark of inspiration strikes, I have about a minute and a half while the neurons are firing and I am coming up with witty remark after witty remark. After that minute and a half, if there is nothing written down on that piece of paper, I'm screwed.
No matter how studiously I apply myself, the ensuing monologue sounds stiff and rehearsed. There's no flow of eloquent words and it seems as though my tongue is as thick as Mr. T's mohawk. It's not gonna sound right no matter how many revisions I make.
I think that's the hardest part of blogging...getting my ideas turned into words and then into written form without the use of a monkey wrench and a can of WD-40, with perhaps a hefty dose of Jameson thrown in to grease the wheels, so to speak.
Now I know some of you don't have these problems and I applaud you all for your quick wit and honeyed tongue. They say practice makes perfect, so practice I will. So if you'll excuse me, I have to find that post-it note that tells me where I left my shot glass.

I know the feeling. I use Google Keep just because of that. Its a free app that lets you type, record, or write with your finger a note that is available then on all your devices.

Yep its free and does voice recording as well as typed or written. Plus ya cant beat the price LOL

@tamaralovelace, you are not alone. Trust me, there are more like us than you realize. It can be frustrating and makes one's life so scattered. My daughter always reminds me to take one step at a time. I also write notes but then I forget where I put them. Then I misplace something. Spend an hour looking for it. Been there and done that. My advise is to slow down and breath. I always try to do too much and then get overwhelmed. Just like Steemit, I stress about writing a post and then I end up getting stuck and not doing anything. So I decided not to pressure myself to write everyday on a post. I just do it when I feel like it. Another thing is to either get a big board to write all your ideas down. You can sit back and look at all the written ideas and then contemplate and create your next post. You wrote an excellent post today! You did better than I did. And in closing, as long as you are active and doing, you can't go wrong. Keep writing when you want to and have a lot of fun doing it, because happiness is what keeps us younger!
