Embracing Change
A few weeks ago I talked about my experience of embracing change at a business storytelling event in Kent, The Business Diaries. I had 15 minutes to tell my story, ensuring that it had a business theme in it.
This was a huge challenge, not because I had to stand up and talk, but because I was talking about myself, my life, and something very personal to me. I had spoken in March this year, making my stage debut in front of 450 people, but had only hinted at some of my early life.
Before I stood up this time, I wasn't exactly sure how much I was going to share. At points when I was speaking I could hear the gasps from the audience. This was the first time I had told anyone, ever, about some of what it was like to be 'little Traci', and why the person I have become over the last few years is so important to me.
I have always wanted to support and help others, which I have done by the development of my teams through my former career and now through the voluntary work I do. However after a period of reflection I know that by sharing my story more through speaking events, this will help others.
Now is my time to let my value shine through - I've never felt better about the path that I am now on.
