Hello guys, welcome to my entry to the Steemit engagement challenge of the season 8 week 4. In today's challenge, we are expected to talk about our mental health as content creators here on Steemit. If you missed the contest post, you can get it here.

I was so happy seeing this topic today, because this is one of the challenges of content creators including myself. Content Creation is one of the strenous work to do because it requires your mental and emotional input. If one is not mentally sound, he might not be able to produce good content. As a content creator your mental condition is very important. If you are not in the right mental and emotional condition, it will affect your productivity.

We have a couple of points to focus on.

How do you feel when creating content? Is it a pleasant experience for you or, on the contrary, does it generate anxiety and discouragement?

Content creating is part of my hobby. I had always loved writing before I joined steemit, so I was so happy to learn that I can make money out of my hobby. I enjoy my content creation experience, I had never felt anxious or discouraged creating contents. It had been a beautiful experience for me, steemit unlike every other social media platform remodified the whole thing, it is so beautiful doing what you can casually do and generate income from it. So I enjoy every of my content creation time, it's an opportunity to express myself through my pen.

Have you ever felt mentally exhausted by generating content on a daily basis? Tell us about your experience.

I have never felt mentally exhausted creating any content. My only challenge is time, because there are a couple of other things I got involved in currently, so time right now is a very expensive commodity for me. But each time I decide to create content on any topic, I see it as an opportunity to express myself in that topic. Writing had been one of my hobby and I express myself better in writing than in talking, so I cease every opportunity I have in doing it to the best of my abilities with joy. It is usually a beautiful experience for me, I am not under pressure or tension neither I'm I anxious doing it. If I'm to research on the topic I was supposed to write, I take my time to do a deep research from different platforms. If I am supposed to write from my head, I give it my best attention. I love writing and I am happy creating my contents at any point in time.

What do you feel when your content is not valued as you expect it to be? Does this affect you mentally?

In my early days of joining steemit in 2020, this affected me very much, this is because I felt I am putting in my best so my content needs to be valued. But after a period of time of studying about the Steemit platform and how it works, it wasn't a problem to me any more. I create my contents with the mindset of expressing myself in any topic I'm writing on and a way to support the growth of the Steemit Platform with my contents. So if I receive a vote support on my contents, I am very happy about that, if I don't also see a vote support, it doesn't get me offended or stop me from making other contents.

Basically, steemit is all about consistency. Consistency in supporting the growth of the platform via your contents, consistency in supporting other users through your comments and votes as well. Everyone on steemit should just have the mindset of giving to the community and supporting the growth of the community, then the community will inturn give back to you.

Support or no support on my contents doesn't affect me mentally, I know support will always come but not mandatory on all my contents. Meanwhile it's a voluntary support, no one is under compulsion to give support to any body's content.

What would be your recommendations for a content creator to keep a healthy mind?

There are a couple of recommendations I would want any content creator here to look into, as outlined below:

  • Maintain a Positive Mindset: A positive mindset is one of the most important character a content creator need to maintain. The state of your mind determines the outcome of your life. If you are positive in your mind, you will always have positive results in your life and the things you do.

  • Eat Healthy Foods and Fruits: Eating healthy foods and eating fruits will help the productivity of your mind as well. If you are malnutrited your productivity will not be effective.

  • Talk to other colleagues when your head is full: Talk to others and seek for help when your head is full. By discussing with others, you find out that some burdens leave you.

  • Take a rest or vacation when you are stressed: Take a rest whenever you notice you have been stressed. Take a vacation and give yourself some good treats, it will help your mind so much.

  • Read about other content creators who are already advanced and doing well to find out their strength and stories, it will help you a lot.

Conclusion

Content creation is really a real work, it determines many work of thinking and stressing the brain to produce quality contents. But then, if you apply some good technics, you will not really be stressed out. If you maintain a Positive Mindset and take a proper care of your body and mind, your will be constantly healthy and fit.

Thank you guys for visiting my post, kindly drop a reasonable comment after reading that would be greatly appreciated.

I also invite my friends @thomisin, @ninapenda and @udyliciouz to come participate in this challenge and tell us about their view on the mental health of a content creator.

Hello my dear friend @talktofaith, but what to know that you do not exhaust yourself and do not get anxious when creating content, and what you do you do with great enthusiasm, it is good sometimes to have a rest before creating content like this or the best ideas flow . Good luck and many successes to you.

Yes I don't get anxious because it's now a part of me. It's what I know I can do well and I am comfortable doing it, so there is nothing to be anxious about.
Thank you for visiting.

De nada mi querida amiga. Saludos y muchos éxitos.

Thank you.

Hi @talktofaith,

Content creation is actually a productive thing. One can never know how much he/she can do until the opportunity comes up. A lot of young and vibrant brains are out there without been in use. Though no brain is idle, every brain is useful and active.
Thank you for the invite. I love writing, although I never knew my potentials until I joined steemit.

Best wishes!

You are right, lots of brains are wasting out there. Some prefer creating their contents on facebook and some other platforms where they simply get a like and comment other than converting the skill to money. Funny enough some doesn't believe in steemit, they feel it's too good to be true.

Thanks for visiting, looking forward to read your entry.

Your recommendation is very appropriate and very good to implement. I think beginners should read your post for integration and learning in order to create content
Good luck my best friend

Thank you @chefdanie for the visit. Yes especially beginners need to learn these techniques so that they don't get frustrated easily.

Our mental health is of great importance.
I remember back then during crypto academy lectures and homework, alot of users were affected including myself.

But there is always need to pause, rest and restart again. I love writing and steemit is my fuel to drive my passion.

Best wishes

You are very right, that early days of crypto academy wasn't a funny experience for so many users especially newbies. I could remember then that I use to take break to go rest and cool off my head before resuming again.

Thanks for visiting.

Thanks a lot for this post, I am glad you were able to share a lot about your writing experience and how you feel about support on the steemit platform. I learned a lot, and I will be joining in this challenge as I will be picking up my pen now.
