Fruit and Veggies Monday – Avocado
Hi, Steemit!!!
In Fruit and Veggies Monday I want to talk a little about avocados.
To be honest, at first I really did not like this fruit. But it was only at first! :)
We had never seen trees avocados before, and could easily pass by them, not guessing about it, even if the tree was with fruits. The fact is that the fruits of avocado in color merge with the leaves and are not particularly noticeable. We were lucky that one of the fruits was visibly hanging against the background of the fence :)
Avocado trees are rather tall; can grow up to 20 meters in height.
There are a lot of species: some have smooth peels, others are tuberose; one is bright green, the other brownish.
The avocado is also called the alligator pear. I do not know where the alligators are, but the shape of the avocado fruit really looks like a pear. I like how the Indians called this fruit. They call avocados - "oil of the forest". This name is very suitable for avocados, because it refers to fatty foods of plant origin. However, you can eat it without the slightest doubt, since the fruit of the avocado contains the enzyme lipase, which participates in the breakdown of fats.
In addition to vegetable fats, avocado fruits contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals; they contain a lot of potassium, which has antiarrhythmic properties; there is glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant.
Regular consumption of avocado fruits reduces the risk of heart disease, in particular, heart attack; vessels - atherosclerosis, hypertension; blood-anemia. Nutritionists prescribe this product to people who suffer from chronic constipation, cataracts, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, which are accompanied by a high level of acidity.
I like the taste of avocado with beans, for example, with hummus or beans. We cook so: boil white beans. On a blender, mix beans, avocado, garlic, available greens (dill, parsley, cilantro). Add salt to taste. This nutrient mixture can be used in sandwiches: tasty and useful.
However, it should be remembered that only flesh is used for food; leaves, peel and bone avocado contain a toxin that is dangerous for both humans and animals.
I wish you good health !!!

I have never seen an avocado tree. Great photos and information. Yes, I love avocados with beans. There is so much you can do with the flavor and creaminess of an avocado. The nutritional benefits are a major plus. Actually not common, something that tastes good and is good for you! LOL!
I'm glad that you were interested in the post
Nice post. Love those wonderful fruits!
Thank you
Very cool to see the avocado on the tree! We throw the pits out in the woods sometimes and have seen the tree start to grow, but it is cold enough here that it won't ever get fruit. I wish we could, though, as they can get expensive to buy from the store. Totally worth it though as they are absolutely delicious!
if I have no food at home but there is avocados then I have food :) I'm very sorry that you have it expensive for the price. By the way I found it seems squash :)
This is a heaven on earth Dear Tali especially for an avocado addict like me , lol. I am just little bit surprised about the shape, I never saw avocados curved like that before. That is very intriguing. Thank you so much for such a wonderful entry and food luck Tali 🍒 🍌🍑🌿🍍🍓🍇
I'm glad, Lena, that you love avocados! I really hoped that you would like the information about him. there are 400 kinds of avocados. probably you saw other varieties.
Here in Venezuela the avocado is cultivated very well, until oil is made! It is very very healthy! excellent post @tali72
it's great! I hope the avocado is inexpensive for you
I love avocado, but since it is winter now, the price is $3.00 + per pound! Lately the market only carried the rough peel avocado!
if the avocado is unripe, it should be put together with other fruits on the table and it will become softer. we also have such a price for avocado
The first time I was offered avocado was like 20 years ago when they tried to sell this exotic fruit by giving them the customers to taste them. The lady suggested to eat it on bread with salt and pepper. That was the simplest advice and the best ever. It was the only way for me to eat avocado for years without getting tired of it.
Your post is a nice reminder of this delicious fruit! Bravocadooo!
Yes you are right! but if you put another piece of cucumber or tomato on the avocado, it will be even tastier :)))
CONGRATULATIONS ! A WELL-EARNED AWARD!
