Blocktrades has Done Right by Me
Just a quick post, which I feel is necessary after the experience I had.
Blocktrades is a highly convenient way to exchange your Steem and SBD for other digital currecies.
Some Steemit users love them. Others don't. But that doesn't matter. I'm not here to tell you that you have to like them or hate them---only that they were honest in their dealings with me.
The way blocktrades work is that they give you a code to put in the "memo" section of your SBD trade, and then you send your SBD straight to their Steemit account, and they read the code in the memo section to fetch your cryptocurrency address and send the funds there.
It's easy, and it requires no bidding or waiting or guesswork.
However, a few days ago, I made a mistake. I got my code from Blocktrades, but accidentally put that code into the SBD transfer's "Amount" field instead of the "Memo" field. For some reason, this whisked 40 SBD from my account into theirs without giving them any idea why I had sent it.
This could have ended pretty badly. I could have lost my hard-earned SBD. But all it took was one email to their account ([email protected]), and within two hours, my SBD was returned.
This may seem like nothing extraordinary, but in a world where people are constantly trying to rip you off, it was refreshing. Blocktrades could have quite easily kept the money and refused to return it. If they had wanted to, they could have made it monumentally difficult for me to correct my own mistake. If I had accidentally overpaid my cable or electric bills, you can bet that the large corporations responsible for those bills would not return my money in the same form that it was given (the best I could hope for would be a credit against next month's bill).
So that my customer service experience went forward so seamlessly in this one instance was something I was not expecting.
It is my opinion that Steemit users everywhere can do honest business with Blocktrades. Whatever else you may think of them, they are not hard to work with.
That's all I have to say. Thank you for reading.

That right there is the kind of people Steemit should have. In an anonymous world of crypto, you can indeed get ripped off by some foul-spirited individuals. Thanks for this info. Trust is one currency that should never be taken for granted. And thanks to @blocktrades for being the person that he is: trustworthy and generous, too!
Thanks for sharing this. I know to trust Blocktrades.

This world needs more honest people, bravo @blocktrades!!!
Nice story, thanks for sharing. In the crypto world we are kind of conditioned to think if we make a mistake we are ruined. So, this is good to know.
