[REFLECTION] Intelligent Reading By: Hellen Keller

Firstly, I don’t really agree about the whole idea because I concretely believe that everything you read is benificial. There’s no thing such as good reading material nor bad reading material because after everything you’ve read, there are always new knowledge and vocabulary you will possess if you really understood what you were reading.

John Wesley coined it as “wasteful, unhealthy, and self-indulging”, it is a clear sign of pessismism because he stresses out the negative things instead of indulging on the bright side. Readers have always been very eager to apply what they have learned from reading into their daily endeavors and expect for the possible convinience as time passes. Conflicting ideas area actually everywhere. Even if you don’t read, you can always percieve those things on everything around you so why do they discriminate the kind of reading that indulges the readers instead of forcing ourselves to read what we don’t want?, and worse when it can possibly drive the reader to disengage with the habit.

After all, this is just a plain opinion and I don’t have anything against the author. I just stay optimistic and sqeeze out every possible thing in this never-ending horror sequel (life) as much as possible.
