Provincial life in Philippines
What do you think about when you hear the word Philippines? Probably the nice white beaches, clean and warm sea, gorgeous corals, hospitable and nice people, cheap restaurants….. Ops, now days with our new president someone maybe can think also about him and all the problems we have. Everything true. But this is just a small part of Philippines. Excluding overcrowded capital of Manila, most Pinoys still live in a province. A simple and happy life, well happy it is when there is enough food and kids can have some gifts for their birthdays. Sometimes is also more difficult, when there is no work and rainy season, so that farming is on stand by. However there is always enough of joy and love. We know how to make our life nice even with limited resources.
Here I am sharing with you guys some of the photos from my village where i was born and lived my childhood. Not much changed from that times, yes we have internet now, OK slow signal, but we have FB, YT, Steemit :), however the atmosphere and the way we live has not changed much. Sometimes when I see these kids playing around, seems that they are still happy, maybe even more happy than kids in Western World with all high-tech gadgets and without the parents to take care for them, cos they have the career on the first place. Seems that kids are put to second place or even later. Provincial life in Philippines, as you can see on these photos, is quite different than hyper productive western life. People are mostly happy if they can have enough food and health so that they can live a simple life. Judge yourself which lifestyle you like more and what is better :)
My grandmother on the photo celebrating her 85th birthday and for the first time in her life having a cake. I was really happy to be able to give her this small gift. Today exactly one year later on her birthday I’ve remembered her again and hope she can enjoy her second cake :).
When celebrating the BD of someone whole village comes together. Actually we don't need to invite anyone because everybody will come anyway :) Karaoke set is a must in this kind of events. Typical food is pancit (filipino style noodles), spaghetti with sweet tomato sauce for kids and fried rice with chicken or fish, for a dessert a traditional leche flan or fruit salad. Kids will drink soft drinks and adults Emperador rum or San Miguel beer.

Budol fight - Rice and other food is placed on a wide banana leaf, where people will it all together using their hands only.

Trike is the most common mean of transport in Philippines, something like a family car in Western world, just that a western car can’t accommodate 10 people and all the luggage at once.
This is a stove made from mud clay, we are still using it daily.
I have decided to repost this post because it has been lost very fast in the blockchain and I can’t resteem it my own. However I think this post deserves another chance here in chainbb.
