Jesus The Meaning of Life

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Blessings Parishioners of Steemchurch, a very hectic December with many labor commitments, sick relatives and a severe economic crisis but despite all these against time we count on mercy
of the Lord every day.

The beginning of a new year is a time of reflection where people are searching for answers to their lives. That is why it is important to bring words of empowerment and challenge the people of God to fight for their dreams. The best way to start the year is with a Word of God for the heart.

Life is a concept that many scholars hold in search of answers. For science, life is a state of energy that brings animation to physical matter during a period between birth and death

But for the Christian faith life is much more than that. Life is a person: JESUS! He was the one who created life and came into the world and lived among us to the point of overcoming death and giving us Eternal Life.

Only by knowing Jesus is it possible to know the meaning of life. Jesus showed that He is the True Life and answered questions that no man has been able to answer. There are four essential questions: Who are you? Where did you come from? What are you doing? Where are you going? These answers help to understand the reason for living.

What is the meaning of your life?
Let's reflect on the answers of Jesus to find the meaning of life:

  1. Who are you?

John 8:58 "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am"

The most difficult question to answer is this: who are you? Many get confused by saying what they do or how they behave and this is not the correct answer. To know what is its essence is to say what it is. For example, I can say that a chair is made of wood and a table is made of iron, but before being a chair or a table, it was wood or iron in its essence.

The evangelist John is concerned to record the definitions that Jesus left about himself showing that Jesus knew who he is. When Jesus said 'I AM' he was declaring that not only 'was' or simply 'existed', but that his life and purpose are eternal and permanent.

Jesus declared that He is:

-the bread of life: John 6:35 and 48
-in the light of the world: John 8:12
-A door of the sheep: John 10.7 and 9
-The Good Shepherd: John 10:11 and 14
-A resurrection and life: John 11:25

  • The way, the truth and the life: John 14.6
    -A true vine: John 15.1 and 5

Many people are not happy because they do not know who they are and the purpose of their existence. The word of God says that "all who received him gave them the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in his name" (John 1:12). That is, you are a Son of God from the moment you believe in Jesus.
Now you know who you are?
You think you are a son or daughter of God!

  1. Where are you from ?

John 8:42 "because it came from God and I am here, I did not come from myself, but he sent me"

Another important answer is to know where it came from. When we live in other cities, we live by answering this question to explain our origin.

When people saw Jesus so different from all the people they had already met, they wanted to know where he came from. The Master was known as Nazarene because he came from the small city of Nazareth and was not a source of pride for many (John 1:46).

Jesus showed that even though he comes from a humble place, he can still be a great person "who does not do it, by ourselves, who are capable of thinking something like us, otherwise our sufficiency is of God" (II Corinthians 3,5). Then you believe that you are not the work of chance, but that you have come from God. It was the Lord who created you and chose you to be born where you came from.

Now do you know where it came from?
You think you came from God!

3- What are you doing?

John 10:10 "I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly"

Many people also do not understand what they are doing here on earth and what their mission is. That is why they live unhappy, not achieving their goals in life. That is why many people fail to carry out their projects and do not sign in search of their dreams.

Jesus knew what he was doing and the purpose of his coming to the world, so he did not care about the persecutions and criticisms. He was sure of his purpose saying that

"I have come as light to the world, so that everyone who believes in me will not remain in darkness" (John 12:46) and what needs to be done "because I did not come to judge the world but to save it" (John 12: 47).

Normally, people only do what they want. But, with time, the will passes and boredom comes. Where each one does his will becomes confusion. And so our life does not make sense,

Jesus left us a mission to "go preach the Gospel" (Matthew 28:20) the fulfillment of the "will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones perish" (Matthew 18:14). He who believes in Jesus "will also do the works that I do, and a greater will" (John 14:12).

Do you know what you are doing?
It fulfills the Will of God that is to announce the Gospel!

4- Where are you going?

John 16:28 "I left the Father and entered the world, yet I leave the world and go to the Father"

The last question is also of equal importance to show the destiny of each person. Who does not have a goal or goal, lives without guidance.

Jesus knew where he was going and that is why he could stand the cross step. This was the reason for their determination and trust, so "I said to them: Although I testify about myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I have come from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from, or where I I go "(John 8:14).

The future of every human being is uncertain having only one certain thing that is death as the end of life. But Jesus did something else for us the promise that "in my Father's house many mansions there are
. If it were not, I would have told you. I will prepare a place for you "(John 14.2).

  • God has a place prepared for you in heaven. *

Many say we can not be sure of eternal life, but this is not true, as Jesus said that "he who believes in me has eternal life" (John 6:47) and this is not a doubt, he would not have said 'such Sometimes "or" sometimes ", however, gave us a guarantee saying in the affirmative present that we already have eternal life.

Now you know where you are going?
You think you're going to heaven!
With Jesus, his life makes sense.

Answering these four crucial questions is not easy and it would be impossible if Jesus had not given us the answer. That is why life only makes sense if it has the Owner of life that is Jesus.

Now if someone asks you, you have an answer:

  • Who are you? I am a child of God, it was He who created me.

  • Where did you come from? I came from God and it was He who placed me here!

  • What are you doing? I am fulfilling the will of God which is to announce the gospel of Salvation!

  • Where are you going? I am going to live in heaven where there is a place prepared for me!

Do not accept doubts or concepts that are not those that Jesus has for you because He is the creator of life and also overcame death, that is why He alone can say what is the meaning of life.

Does your life make sense? Jesus gives meaning to his life!
