What's your take on blended families?

Hello Steemit family,

We know that divorce rates are on the rise, so we might as well be real with how we adapt to the changes in the traditional family scenarios. Lately, most divorced couples are not shy to date again and even settle down with another partner. It happens especially where children need someone to be present as a father or a mother figure.

When children are young, they can easily cope with the changes as long as there is immeasurable amount of love shown by both parents. This removes the gap that has been left by either the mother or the father who is not raising the children on a day to day basis.

It should be noted that even though the biological mother or father who is not on a daily basis in contact with the children is still a parent to the children, as long as boundaries have been set as to what their role is and what the role of the new partner in the new marriage is, the transition should be okay, not necessarily smooth but it does get better with time.

It is not my wish that couples divorce, but when that does happen, one should not be mentally imprisoned to think that they can not find love again. However, I know this could be controversial and against most religious beliefs. I just like being real with life as it comes. What's your take on blended families?

It's not really acceptable as of now, they are still frowned upon especially within the African context and Christianity. The issue is relative and depend mostly on a persons view.
