Phases of communication.
Communication started when human beings set foot on this planet earth.
When there was no language people used to communicate with gestures and signs.
The communication started to get better as people learned languages.
Now I don't know what language the early people spoke but we are grateful to them that they started a way which helped the human race communicate with each other.
People also used signs to express their thoughts and share information with their communities.
People learned the skill of writing and wrote letters to each other as means of communication and that brought post offices into existence.
Human messengers were sent to deliver their messages to the people living in far off places.
This type of communication was mainly used by the rulers and emperors when they had to deliver a message of peace or the deceleration of war.
Many human messengers got killed in this process.
Sending human messengers was time consuming and had risk factors involved also so the ancestors started training birds who could deliver the messages in less time with no risk involved to the human lives.
The use of pigeons for the communication purposes lasted for a very long time.
It is believed that the persians were the first to master the art of training pigeons for communication purposes and later this type of communication was used worldwide.
The means of communication system started getting better and better and not so long ago someone tied two cups of tin or whatever metal he used with a string and he was able to listen to another person at a distance from him.
Time passed by and Alexander Graham Bell came up with a telephone and revolutionised the communication system.
People were now able to talk with each other from different corners of the world.
What really revolutionised the communication process is Internet, perhaps the greatest invention in the of 90's in the field of communication.
The only disadvantage that telephones had was that they were very costly if you were making calls abroad.
With the advent of the internet, a lot of applications for communication were built on top of it which offered free voice and video calling.
We might see more unbelievable inventions in the field of communication in near future, so lets wait and see what future holds for us.

what really accelerated communication in the last 20 years or so was email. even before the modern day internet came into existence, email played a large role in introducing concepts like aliases, groups, read receipts, attachments and carbon copies!

Nice post. I personally think that body language and facial expressions are very significant parts of communication that people often don't pay enough attention to.

Communication started yes right at the First day we were born we started demanding through crying so that people around us will know that definitely we need something since that is the only way infant can communicate through crying and smiling. But I would say sign communication started right inside the womb when a baby is turning telling the mother I'm still alive. Communication development is in various phases and also the revolution of communication will never stop. One of the recent revolution in communication is blockchain among other communication discoveries and innovations. I love you post.

I have seen some speculation that over the next hundred years a lot of our communication via text will be in the form of emoticon like images. Glad I will be long gone before we get to that..
well,who knows,you might still be cracking nuts with your teeth.
If we describe effective communication as being based on the response that one gets then I believe we might be clearer in thinking that we stay have a long way to go before being any good at it.
We have many methods and channels for communicating but how effective are each of those. It is so.much more than just blanketing a message. What is understood???
