Live and online streaming

Before the introduction of the internet people used to watch movies and other forms of visual entertainment on TV mostly.
There were other devices such as vcr's and vcd's which worked upon the insertion a disc or dvd.

Never had we thought that we would be able to watch movies and other stuff on our phones.
This was made possible by the introduction of high end feature phones where we would download and watch our favourite shows or movies or sports.

Netflix was one of the pioneer's in online entertainment and provided online services on subscription.

Netflix introduced online streaming of shows and movies in 2007 as an add on service apart from the already existing ones for the pc users.
The idea of online streaming became popular and suddenly there were other players like Xbox 360, blue ray disc players and others providing the online streaming options.
Suddenly the concept of live streaming was also introduced and now the people were able to stream live on their computers.
You could watch your favourite shows and matches without having to switch on your TV.

Introduction of online and live streaming to smartphones was a huge breakthrough for streaming companies and saw them generate a huge revenue.
Netflix is the major giant in this industry and continues to entertain people in best possible ways.

Personally speaking, I started streaming videos back in 2010 and since then it became like a part of my life.
I used to watch TV for more than 3-4 hours daily but with the introduction of online streaming, the hours are now minutes.
There is not a single day for me which goes by without watching opening YouTube.
Honestly speaking, I don't even remember when was the last time I watched TV.

Online and live streaming has surely made huge advancements but it is very addictive at the same time.
