The continued advancement in artificial intelligence is changing the world. AI has been around for decades and its impact is hard to ignore. In particular, there are some notable areas that AI continues to significantly influence.

First, there are valid fears that automation will lead to tangible loss of jobs. As advancements continue, robots and intelligent agents will be able to perform some jobs better than humans and organizations will have to lay off the affected professions. But those are just fears. A look at history shows that though technological advancements result in the loss of some jobs, more are created in the process.
Second, AI is helping us make huge leaps in combating disease. Medics now have better diagnosis accuracy and better cures have been invented, all thanks to AI. Other notable areas include improved security, facial recognition is perhaps the most obvious advancement.

Cellphone manufacturers are picking up pace by allowing users to exercise a higher degree of privacy and protection of personal information.
Google is leading auto manufactures by developing a smart car that can self-drive.
The opportunities brought by AI are almost endless. Of course, there are downsides such programming AI into weapons that can cause mass destruction. However, just like any other advancement, the benefits outweigh the risks and the future seems more intelligent.
