Gabba Test - Day 4
Pakistan started the day at 64/3 and lost two more wickets of Shan Massod and Iftikhar very quickly. Shan Masood was dropped early morning by Joe Burns but he couldn't capitalize on the opportunity and eventually fell to a short ball trying to pull. Iftikhar didn't last long either as he fell for a golden duck courtesy of some great bowling by Josh Hazelwood.
Rizwan, then joined Babar Azam and both of them played nicely and went on to make a partnership of over 100 runs. Babar Azam was at his best and he scored his maiden test on the Australian soil. Rizwan was on his way to make a ton also but threw his wicket away when he was just 5 runs short of the magical figure. Yasir Shah played a handy knowck down the order but couldn't save Pakistan from an innings defeat.
Hazelwood turned out to be Australia's hero of the day. He was excellent throughout the day and ended up adding 4 wickets to his kitty. All other bowlers supported him very well.
Pakistan have a real problem in their batting department. They should have been able to score more runs at Gabba. They need to focus on their number 3 and number 4 positions.
