Augmented reality refers to the technology expands the physical world we live by addition of digital information layers onto it. Augmented reality is unlike virtual reality in that it does not try to replace the real environment with a virtual one. In other words, the objects in our real world are augmented with information that is generated through computers across many sensory modalities like haptic, visual, auditory, olfactory and somatosensory. There are four main types of Augmented Reality that include Superimposition-based AR, Projection-based AR, Marker-based AR and Marker-less AR.
