Bring Back My Pants: Uruguay
Traveling is an important part of my life. It's the great escape into the unknown (both inner and outer). It's my opinion that "culture shock" is the movie of the mind. In route we learn the ways, rhythms, and flavors of cultures previously unknown. Travelling, for me, is like reading the book of life. Travel gives a fresh new perspective and a chance to observe and learn new things - food, language, culture, religion, history. It also gives a lot of time to introspect and understand on how certain things are done around the world. While traveling, new benchmarks are being set up for later times to look back upon for further self reflection. The pictures of each trip become more priceless as time carries on. It gives me inspiration to live a happier/healthier life, or perhaps, happy to be living a better life. Here are a few pictures and video from a culmination of about 3 trips to Uruguay.
This was photo taken at sunset near Solis, Uruguay as the tide was coming in.
Hiking the beach to find the right picture just before sunset. I ran out of time, so I just took a selfie. I know that sucks. It's all I had.
We stopped in Carmelo, Uruguay and had an incredible lunch with fresh cheese and wine at Narbona, a winery owned by a friend.
“The Hand”, as it has come to be popularly called, is a plastic work standing on the beach of Punta Del Este (point of the East) since the summer of 1982.
The graffiti art around the city of Montevideo, Uruguay was stunning.
Textures in the sand somewhere near Solis, Uruguay.
We had to pull over to get this shot of the trees as they covered the road in shade in this photo called "Road To Carmelo."
