Sexual orientation fairness or should i say Gender equality shenanigan .  I know a lot of you will scowl at this subject perhaps in view of its discussions , however please simply take out little of your time and read! This specific post is motivated by my previous post  In the comment section@Chiderebere 's remarks kinda rattled me,the motivation behind why i chose to compose on this, I am not a feminist but rather i can just help where a lady is given equivalent rights as men, particularly in higher positions, in Africa i think its outlandish for a lady to accomplish a place of the president or head of state or senate presidency! Level with rights for men and women in the private circle were restricted to those conspicuous basic rights, for example, the privilege to life, to live in security and to regenerative and sexual wellbeing rights. This is not to put them down after all, the only sexual and regenerative rights are a critical piece of empowering ladies to enter and stay in general society universe of work while the privilege to live in security, including inside a marriage, is crucial to our survival. Once in a while, these fights must be re battled and re won.

It should shock you - and not astound you-to discover that in a quarter century, a fourth of a century, the level of ladies in the all day workforce has risen just from 27% to 31%. Four percent in a fourth of a century. As it were we have done as such gravely at helping ladies to consolidate work and family scarcely any any bigger number of ladies are doing it than in the terrible past times.

In Africa, Nigeria as a case study, most ladies are forgotten in the planning of wills or legacy by their dad, just few and vased taught ones really put their girl child in the will! There is a whole other world to this, every one of these should be looked upon!

I would love to read and understand My fellow steem mate's point of view in this issue!

Sort:

An African man will not socorn to female heading a powerful position because of fear of abuse of power and that such female might be in the position of authority and controling. Though it ought not be so coz we have equal right to life

Have you seen where a female couldn't handle or rather misuse what was given to her? Especially the power aspect!

Once its on gender equality...all depends whats in your mind. Many defence as well as many truth

True it all depends in ones mind, thanks for stopping by...

I call the African mentality towards such especially in Nigeria crazy. But on the other hand it sex inferiority, sense of judgement others of the female child that induces the black to indulge in such inequality act.

Thanks for sharing!

Women are more empathetic than men, they feel what men dont feel, so it may really be hard for all to embrace the idea of a female becoming as powerful as a president, not for fear of controlling or becoming intosticated with power but for fear that they may grant the wish of evey tom, dick and harry that come in search of money they know they will embezzle.men are more strong willed. But in the area of not including women in the will, that is rubbish.Every dead dad who refused to put their daughter's share in the will when alive, ought to be flogged even if dead.lol

Thank you sister, but i believe there are some women who are strong willed as well! Yes to the dad's being flogged if they fail in that aspect... 😀😂

Hmmm! Things are not as simple as they look. In Nigeria which you chose as a case study, can you point out a woman that has come out for the post of presidency? I doubt if there is any. I'm not also forgetting the fact that sentiment is the order of the day in Nigeria polity.

On the idea of fairness, if taken seriously, many people would get little because fairness in its true sense means given everybody his due.

I do not think women are inferior, rather some see themselves as such. My best female friend would not even join you in this argument because it presupposes a battle for superiority.

See men as inferior and you will be glad! 😀

Remember before a candidate is announced it goes through the screening even before the primaries? Who knows if they were all screened out when they announced being a candidate? And again it's in African's mentality to see women as inferior beings...

This is one topic i will love my dear Africa to see and agree with

Bless you dear.... Thank you!

Thanks for this post. However, I will like to point out that culture also plays a part in a father not recognising the female child in the will. This is the norm in some cultures in Nigeria. In other places the first child whether male or female is saddled with the responsibilty of taking care of the others. This sometimes backfires when the individual who is to do the needful becomes greedy. Overall, fathers should do the needful at all times if they do not want to be flogged even in death!!!
