It is not easy to take any bold step. When the bold step is to challenge the chronically old taboos and to create awareness about what is often said in Dabboo Jubo, it becomes more challenging. Wisdom and courage are required to overcome all difficulties and to maintain their dream. And the school dropout of Coimbatore, Arunachalam Muruguntham has introduced its passion and indomitable courage in providing sanitary napkins at a nominal cost to the poor women of India.

In a country where monthly religion is considered to be a taboo subject, Muruga decided to work on a subject which hardly could think of doing any work. Muruga took the issue of their cleanliness during the menstruation and took turns in this tune, because of which people not only considered her corrupt, but her own wife left her, her family abandoned her And their village oppressed them.

But he did not kneel in front of circumstances, instead of his, Muruga became more convinced about his dream and he resolved to make it the truth. She gathered herself in her mission, and today Muruga is a famous social entrepreneur, who has been ranked by TIME Magazine as one of the world's 100 most influential people. Muruga was also honored with the fourth highest civilian honor, Padmashri by the Indian government.

From the poor weavers' sons to 'Pade-Man / Manifest Man of India', their journey is not only remarkable but also inspirational. His journey started in the year 1998, when the newly married Muruga felt that his beloved wife was using unhygienic methods in her menstrual days.

Muruga said during the tide talk, "I tried to impose a new packet of sanitary pads with my new wife. I went to a local shop, I tried to buy her sanitary pad packet. The person started looking at the right and left, and he spread a newspaper and bent it into that newspaper and put it in my hands, as if it was a restricted thing. I did not understand why he did this. "

However, buying his sanitary napkins regularly was not easy and cheap for his wife. Muruga also felt that the use of sanitary napkins was limited in adjoining villages, nearly one in ten women used it. She was shocked to know that most women used to wear tired clothes, sand, leaves and even ashes during their period.

This was the moment when there was a major change in Muruga's life. Regardless of what the ethnic society will say, they took an oath to make such sanitary pads which are not only effective but also in the budget of ordinary people. But the moment you decide to do some work, the path becomes difficult; And this is what happened to our beloved Muruga.

He soon started making many samples of cotton sanitary pads and he gave it to his wife for use. However, one day his dear wife Shanti suddenly refused to help in his research. Then, Muruga went to his sisters, who felt that his brother's head was gone and he also refused to help in his research.

During tad talk, Muruga said, "This is the reason that I have always been jealous of the sadhu society of India. There are always female volunteers around them. You know that without calling them, they will have many female volunteers. But no one was willing to help me. I also approached the girls of the medical college, but they also refused. "

In the end, without any way, Muruga took his most bold step and did something that no maiden ever did. They started using the sanitary napkins themselves. He made a uterus with the help of rubber ball, put animal blood in it and put it with the help of his buttocks. He pulled a tube from the artificial uterus to the sanitary pad, placed inside his underpants. By pressing the artificial blender, they create a situation like a monthly flow.

Muruga said in joke, "Now I have been given the title of first person, like the first person to step on the moon, Armstrong; Tenzing (and) Hillary, the first person to climb Everest; In the same way, Muruganathan is the first person in the world who wore sanitary pads.

However, Muruga's body started to smell quickly and her clothes often got blood stains. The villagers saw this and thought they were either sick or misguided. His wife did not tolerate the things of the people and separated from them. Despite all these results, Muruga did not give up. It was not only an effort to provide cleanliness to his wife, but Muruga was on the mission to provide sanitary pads cheaply to all the poor women of the country.

Talking about his bold step, Muruga said during an interview, "People thought that I was using it as a handcuff to run behind the women. The villagers began to feel that I became a demon. They wanted to hang me in a tree, but as soon as I succeeded, the whole village's language changed. They started saying that we knew Muruga would do something good because its front is wide. Initially, they wanted to give me social exclusion - they would beat me, scold me, scold me. By seeing me from the front, my friends would have changed their way. My Bibi left me, my mother left me. "

After nearly two and a half years of hard work and many prototypes of their sanitary napkins, after trying and testing them, Muruga finally found out the raw material that could make perfect pads. It was - hard board letter, which they found, was a cotton made of pine trees on the board. After the raw material was detected, his next step was to prepare a machine that would not only make these napkins but also provide employment to women.

During one of his conversations, he said, "Being a son of weavers, I had information about the difficulties of the people. If women learn to make these napkins in villages, then this can have their sustainability income. "

With this simple agenda, Muruga prepared a handy machine that could make cheap sanitary pad. Where the imported sanitary napkin machines cost $ 500,000, Muruga's machine is worth $ 950. And since its invention, Muruga's machine has honored women with low income groups in India's rural areas, not only have they been able to buy them sanitary napkins but also provided them the income generator.

At present, over 1300 machines manufactured by Muruga's start-up company, Jayashree Industries, are engaged in 27 states and seven other countries of India.

Interestingly, while most people had taken advantage of this opportunity to make money, Muruga took another bold step and refused to use this machine for his personal benefit. During an interview, Muruga said, "I do not want to go to a traditionally profit-making business model. India does not need second Ambani. I am a social entrepreneur. "

He further said, "What is my mission?" In my lifetime, I am going to make India a 100 percent sanitary napkin country. Thus, I am going to provide employment to 1 million villagers of India. That's why I'm not running behind this money. I am doing some serious work. "

Today, this school drop out, who has earned the nickname of the Manuestrial Man on the basis of his courage, is being saluted as a dreamer who is empowering rural women. They are regular visiting faculty at IIT, IIM and several universities of the country and abroad, who are going to give lectures there on rural marketing.

Not only this, on the inspirational story of this hero, Padmanam is also producing a movie in Bollywood, in which Akshay Kumar will be seen as Muruganantham.
