I had planned to write a piece tonight about my forthcoming sketchbook, but it’s turning out to be more I’m depth than expected. So I’m going to save that for tomorrow. Tonight, I’m beat partially due to the crazy workload lately, but also because I just came back from one of my favorite weekly activities; The Illustrated Friends Live Podcast. Myself and my buddies Max and Billy sit around and talk comics, movies, games and general pop and sub culture going-ons. We talk about our respective creative endeavors, both collaborative and solo We also play games, and feature music from local and national act. Also th jewel of the show, a segment called Billy Talks Us Movies, in which Billy resells us Movies he has watched. It’s something else. I’ve also been working on the iPad in Procreate for the last month or so now. It’s ackward but I feel like I’m getting the hang of it. Like any new tool, it’ll just take time. The Illustrated Friends image was done fully digitally, as was the image below.

This piece is kind of the focal point of a story that is in early early stages. The idea is to follow the life of a comic book as it travels back and forth between to friends over the course of their lives. I have lots of notions and scenes in my head. But nothing ready to share quite yet.

This last piece for the evening was the first piece I colored on in Procreate. The linework was done with ink on paper and seemed like a solid piece to toy around with while dipping my toes in on the iPad. It’s currently offered as a free print with any order from my website, www.swarddraws.com.
