Never stop. My first self portrait.

in #art7 years ago

A Year and a half ago I've installed photoshop on my computer for the first time.
Learning the fundamentals of digital drawing and patience, cause always had the lack of it, even now. There was nothing I could hold my attention on for more than an hour or two. So I had to do something. I've tried to do something that I know really well. Yes, my face (you egocentric basterd!) I had nothing to draw with except with my mice, so :D what could I do? I did it with mice. This was the hammer that I used to shape my patience for the last year.

When I got the face done (it's faaaaar from done) I wanted to make it really cool. I love exoskeletons and power armors, I'm a big fan of Iron Man, Batman, Warhammer 40k... one day we might even wear some kind of exoskeleton... At least I hope.
And i suited my self with a simple one. But I was proud, it was my first finished piece of art done only digitally. If you could see my setup. I had the camera right underneath my chin, a desk lamp next to it, and I was smoking almost all the time, cause I was stupid. I could have taken a photo of myself but noo.
When i had my values, i've found out about the smudge tool(my first favorite tool)... the rest is another story.

No place for distraction for the man upon a mission that will never stop!
The chance of you actually catching me, is but minimal I've got maximum mastery.
Mastered each of my skills to the max, you see that's the key.
Treat combat at last and least.Because i vastly prefer sneaking past with ease.
But if i have to I'll attack from the back, crack your neck and fade back in the dark!

Tip for artists:When you don't feel like drawing or painting or whatever, just get your canvas dirty. Draw a few lines, your brain will start ticking. Your reference frame will lead you where you need to be, on the drawing board. Or if you are tired of it you can get something else done, fix something, go out for a walk, wash the dishes. Many artists are doing that in order to get some rest of it, for example Reinhard Schmid Visit his blog, he is great artist, we all burn out sometimes.

Great work! That's really impressive :)

Thank you mate!

Good work man,, you still have a very digital look going in the painting though. You can try to get rid of that by better controlling your values and stay away of the soft-brush :D

Keep working hard you'll get much better in no time! :)

Cheers!
