You have a husky voice darling..!

My weakness? Men with deep husky voice…!! Hubba… hubba..!! 😈😈😈 Everytime I hear Tom Hardy & Chris Hemsworth with their sexy, husky voice.. my knees go weak.. I’m sure you are nodding your head acknowledging the same..! 😍😍

Men with with husky/hoarse voice are termed sexy/appealing, whereas the same isn’t applicable to all women who have a husky touch to their voice. Why??

I have a husky/hoarse voice & I have been subjected to loads of insults & on some rare occasions been complimented for the same. I am thoroughly confused..!!!

Let’s dig deeper into this topic.

What does having a husky voice mean? Some say it means having a semi whispered vocal tone; somewhat hoarse, as when speaking with a cold or from grief or passion. Hmmmm..is it .!?

Over the centuries there has been a lot of back and forth on women with husky voice being sexy or unattractive. All this has been judged by various men and women over the years & that is human nature, isn’t it? To judge, to pass comments, to insult, to compliment, it’s a default mechanism.

Let me tell you my take on this topic.

I have always had this husky voice that I have grown to love with time. I used to be embarrassed by it when I was young. I was teased by kids at school & they would mimic me & call me names. Kids would ask me to get myself checked if I was a guy or a girl & this made me hate my voice. My cousins & aunts would mock me. I have over heard them discussing my voice & they would say such mean things that hurt soooo bad. It was difficult to handle all these negative reactions as a kid. I have cried so many nights with all the hateful remarks about how manly my voice is for a girl.

One of the most difficult thing is not being able to sing with this voice without being laughed at or mocked by people. I gave up the hope of being able to sing in the school choir, because according to all my school teachers I didn’t have the voice of a singer i.e. “smooth”. That was the end of my childhood dream of being able to sing. I don’t even sing in my bathroom till date because of the same reasons 😓😓 .

Everything changed once I grew up. I was now uncomfortable with people (boys 😜😈 ) complimenting the very same husky voice I was embarrassed about through my entire childhood. When anyone would call my voice “sexy”, I would doubt if they are mocking me or genuinely trying to compliment me for my voice. It took me a while to wrap my head around this new found “sexy voice” tag.

Honestly, sexy husky voice differs from woman to woman. Most of the time, if you are a good looking woman with a hoarse voice it is termed sexy/passionate voice. Whereas, if a woman doesn’t fit the same criteria their voice is termed rough & unattractive. Let me share an incident which keeps repeating every time when I call a customer care executive, they always think I’m a man calling & start asking me questions referring to me as “Sir”. This really pisses me off most of the time & some time I just let it be, because this never ends & it happens each time I call any customer care center(except American Express, love them

You know a guy finds you attractive or likes you, when he compliments you on small things like your voice, your eyes, ahhem among other things that he notices. :P So basically it's mostly men who have complimented my husky voice & very very very few women. In my experience women with normal voice don’t like women with husky voice, why?? I don’t know!! We are supposed to stand for each other sisters.!! 😜😜 Jokes apart, I still have some women who openly make fun of my hoarse voice & some of them bitch about it behind my back, which I eventually find out because I always have inside information 😎😎.

I have had a fair share of moments where I hate & love this husky voice God has blessed me with, but what about you? I have learned to love it after all this time & use it well 😜😘 You know what I mean..!😈😈😈.
