My Plan To Diversify My Content

in #steemit8 years ago

I just leveled up to 60!! Whenever I am skimming through the 'New' or 'Hot' categories, I find that a rep score of 60 is the threshold for me where I begin to assume that an account is getting to be somebody on the platform. So, 60 is what I've been striving for on Steemit for months, and I have finally achieved it.

It kind of got me thinking about my place here and the content that I create. When I first began this new journey, my idea was to write mainly about homesteading, self reliance, and sustainability. Unfortunately, due to circumstances (house wouldn't sell), the homesteading part had to be put on hold, and I found a bit of a niche in writing science and nature content. I enjoy it, but it is time consuming for me. As a result, I usually only post 2 or 3 times a week, and I haven't spent a lot of time being involved with the Steemit community, lately. That is something I would like to change.

So, going forward, I am setting a few goals for myself:

  1. Make at least one post every day.
  2. Come up with an idea for a weekly contest w/ prizes.
  3. Begin the planning phase for the upcoming homestead projects (the time is getting near!)
  4. Write more about sustainability in my science content.
5)Learn more about Discord and maybe even try it out a little.

I ran across @livesustainably's page, and I really like the idea! If you haven't heard about them, you should check it out. Their goal is to promote and curate content that teaches and encourages sustainability, and they publish a daily digest of posts that exemplify those qualities. In addition, they have a weekly environmental photo competition and a weekly Cook It Fresh. If you're interested in participating, those are the links to the latest edition of each contest.

Thanks for reading, and if you have suggestions for contest ideas or know of any other Steemit projects that deserve some support, let me know in the comments!

Congrats on hitting 60 rep, bud! Though be warned, it takes longer and longer to grow your rep from here.

As far as contests go- you should consider giving memberships in @steembasicincome as prizes, it benefits you and the winner.

I've actually been reading up on @steembasicincome. That is a good idea!

Congrats on your rep score!! :) Good goals! Don't stress over posting every single day if it doesn't come. You'll end up sitting there with "blank screen" syndrome more often than not! Hahah. But I hope you do it, and I look forward to it, best of luck!!

You made your goal! That's so exciting! One of my favorite parts about this platform is the ability to change directions and goals. You're only limited by the box you put yourself in! Carry on!

Thanks for the mention and kudos on the rep. Takes ages to get to 60 as well!
