iOS 14. New Features compiled for you.
iOS 14 was announced on WWDC 2020 on 23 June 2020.
We have added all new features that will be available for with iOS 14.
New home screen with the App Library
After swipe from last home screen, comes App Library, where all apps will be organized automatically and available in a single page.
There will be suggested apps as per your usage and most recently installed apps in separate folders.
Widgets on the Today view and Home screen
New sizable widgets which can be placed on home screen are also available.
Yes, widgets on home screen! Cool right?
Whole new SIRI
Siri has turned into a glowing orb and does not cover the whole screen. The results will be shown as a pop up on top.
Picture-in-picture Mode
That iPad feature we all have been looking for is finally in iOS. Now we can play the video in a thumbnail size by swiping back to home screen when watching a video or talking on a FaceTime call. It can be sized and swiped off to make it a tab, with the audio still playing. Cool if YouTube implements it soon, Right?
App Clips to use mini-apps
Now we can use little parts of apps without downloading the apps.
Major Messages improvements
Now 9 conversations can be pinned to top. Group conversations can be named and we can give the groups their own images. Now, replying to message is possible. And notifications only when you are mentioned.
Memoji
New hairstyles, headwears, three new stickers, different ages and face covering including a MASK!
The Translate app
Apple has a new app Translate and it does translate in 11 languages. And the better part, it works offline too.
Compact incoming calls
The best feature is compact incoming calls. Whether a voice call, FaceTime call, or VOIP app like Skype, incoming calls now show up as a small dropdown notification that you can simply swipe away to ignore.
When will it release?
Typically, September.
