In the short video above, I talk of blockchain innovations and the impact of ‘real life’ on its entire model evolution, be it its code, governance model, usecase etc.

The real life paradigm I tackle in this case study is called ‘beating your consequences’. This is a real life paradigm that exists in the real world that isn’t so popular in the painted world as the painted world tends to sell instead the marketing terminology “pursuit of happiness”. While blockchain is a beautiful technology, the painted state of the world has a hold on it, till we use blockchain aright. Yes, the real life paradigm “bearing your consequences” is one such as paradigm that has impacted the evolution of blockchain and this case study, I take a look at these things with specific look at Hive and Steem. Till date, there isn’t much difference between both, perhaps there shouldn’t have been a split at all, where we decided to bear our consequences.
