As you may know from my last video, I'm a huge fan of @tangerinetravels' Spanish lessons.

They've already published a lot of funny and entertaining videos where they're guessing Spanish words or phrases. This is actually a great way of learning any new language!

So today I came up with the idea of providing the two of them with another 'slang riddle'.

Are you ready for the challenge, @tangerinetravels? Then check the video! :-)

To all my other followers: Of course, you're invited to participate, too!

The only rule is that you may not use Google or any other dictionary. Also Maddie and Jordan you'll be not allowed to read the comments section down here :-)

Now I'm really curious to read your answers!!!

Much love 💜

Marly we seriously love you!! There could not be a better start to our day than watching your video. :) Okay, so no cheating from the comments or Googling.

Here are our guesses:

Maddie: When someone has a really big head/big ego and it's like saying they need bigger teeth to go along with that.
Jordan: Someone is having a bad day and they can't turn their frown upside down. If you're enlarging their teeth, you're helping them be happy and smile.

This was a tricky one! How'd we do?

Haha, I love you even more!! :-D
You also just made my day with your reply :-)

Well from your videos I already knew that you're quite talented in derivating a phrase's meaning from words you already know. So both of your answers could have been right. Yet, it means something different:

Poner los dientes largos a alguien = To make somebody's mouth water

So that's what you actually did to all of us with your frozen yoghurt video, hahaha!

I seriously love that game! :-)
Que tengan un muy muy buen día en Mexico, amigossss!

Awe, you're making us smile from 1,000s of kilometers away!

Thanks for featuring us in a post, we think that's awesome!

What country is that saying from? I am a native Spanish speaker and I had never heard of it.

That's what we were talking about: there are maaany different slangs in Spanish.
This one here is from Canary Islands :-)
When you say native Spanish, then which country are you talking about? Mainland?

Me! Me! Pick Me, teacher!

<He waves his hand madly overhead...>

So, I'm guessing - I did not look this up, nor did I read any other comments first - I'm guessing that it means "make me smile" or "make someone smile."

Well? ;)

Your challenge "enlarged my teeth" for sure... ;)

😄😇😄

@creatr

Hahaha, you just made me laugh out loud :-D

Well to be honest, you were really close.... buuuut the truth is that:

Poner los dientes largos a alguien = To make somebody's mouth water

So if I constantly told you how beautiful Canary Islands were - knowing that you're not able to come over immediately - then you could say: "Ey, me estás poniendo los dientes largos!" :-D

And I'd say: "Si!!!" :-D

Oh I love riddles... haha
