Some quality family time at Dambulla
After few weeks full of hustle and bustle , finally I could able to enjoy a vacation. This time we went on a family trip to Dambulla, with my sister-in law's family and us.
We had to use three vehicles in order to insert all of us and I happened to be the driver of one, where I was accompanied by my sister-in law's brother, who was just one year elder than me. So we could drive freely on our own plans, waiting on beautiful locations and speeding freely without screams from the back seat.
Our first stop was Nihal's restaurant at Nittambuwa for the breakfast where I could recommend for anyone for tasty food for a reasonable price. Then we 2 stopped near a scenic lake for a moment but soon it got darker by the cloud cover and a slight drizzle . So we hit the roads again and stopped for a sight seeing at Ibbankatuwa where pre historic era's cemetery was discovered. That place was not that interesting and even there was a ticket of 100 LKR for nothing. Adding to the frustration the rain was pouring heavily by then and we straight away put the gas in towards the hotel we were supposed to stay.
It was Jetwing lake hotel which is situated in a calming environment by a small lake. After a quick look around the hotel, we went to the buffet and it was fun trying various foods. Later in the evening we went to visit Sigiriya and it was my first time there. We were the last ones to enter the premises and also to exit. It was used really fascinating technologies Which could be beyond the thinking boundaries of a normal human being at that time. Still generating dollars for us, still making his great great great children’s lives better. How visionary leader..😀
Night buffet was also very exuberant just as the lunch. After trying various foods again, went into a deep sleep eventually..
As the name suggests, jetwing Lake has a small lake infront of the hotel and in the morning , there are beautiful scenery of nature with birds flying around. So early in the morning I went to the lake, with just the camera in my hand and importantly Not the phone. It was a very peaceful feeling. Enjoying the nature and calmness and few tourists around seems to be very impressed that I'm just sitting and watching at the lake and doing nothing.
Later the day, we visited the Dambulla cave temple and was really amazed by the arts and crafts at there. Wish we could go back the time and see how the arts are drawn. Then we had a quick visit to Kandalama lake on the way and headed home in the afternoon to end relaxing 2 days.
You had a nice trip. Good and be happy always.
