BROKEN THINGS LIKE ME ... POEM

You must think that I am stupid
You must think I am a fool
For I cannot see your love
I do not respond to it.

You must think I am heartless
You must think I am cold
For you gave me so much love
I do not accept it.

Broken china cannot be fixed
But broken hearts can be mended.
But I do not want to be fixed
But you don't know this

I have experienced pain that words cannot describe
So you can never know.
I don't want to be able to feel that pain again
But you can never understand why.

I'll never come close to you
Even when I mean the most to you
I'll never let come close to me
Even when you're all to me

It hurts every time I try to open it
The wounds never healed
The scars serve as warning signs
"Broken things like me should not be fixed"
