In this post, I shared about a basic tutorial to create a meme.

Disclaimer: I am not a designer, so I don't really know any correct terms to use. But I had been using Photoshop a while.

Step 1: Google

Find a suitable memes template online and get started.

I use Liam Neeson meme from Taken. The classic "I will find you and I will kill you".

Step 2: Create the text

In photoshop, use T to create text. Alternatively, you can find the Text button on the panel.

Remember, text on memes are all caps

The font I use is Impact, with white colour font.

Step 3: Add in shadow to the text

Right click on the Text that you created, and choose "Blending options...".

And choose outer glow.

My settings are:

• Opacity: 100%
• Spread: 3%
• Size: 7px (this varies)

Step 4: Repeat it again and you are done.

The laziest way is to duplicate the text and edit it again (for the bottom text).

Step 5: Add a watermark/signature (Optional)

Adding these can make sure your meme are not able to be steal.
