Aesthetic Essences #4

Diving through the pools of artistry that laps along the trails of digital landscapes I’ve come across the following works of art. Appreciate them and admire the aesthetic essences found within.

Great soft-forms and varied compositions. Some of the strongest artwork I’ve seen, with an immense imaginative force. Definitely check his art out.
 
Incantation
 

 
This is such an interesting composition. All the little dudes populating the space and giving it some moment. The variety really draws you in and makes you appreciate what’s going on, not to mention the fact that she’s painting a face that is attached to her long braid :0
 
Walking in the Green
 

 
Such a simple and eloquent piece, I really enjoy the efficiency of the brushstrokes and depth. What really gets me off is the creature and rider. Wow, I do not see such forms so often! ‘Unique’ is a weak word to describe this, but that visionary creature really makes this piece so interesting to look at.
 
Call of War
 

 
Again with these creature designs, holy mackarel. These are like chocobo’s on steroids! The scene itself is classic, displaying the army riding forward towards battle. Zeen did well interlacing the farther characters and building the idea that this is a large force and not just a couple of men.
 
Dream Paradiso concept art
 

 
Portraits are often too focused on the straight-on view of the character, so something like this stand out. Giving some of the upper body to hold the head in place, the direction of the lighting and interesting facial expression really makes this a unique portrait.
 
 
Artist: Zuzana
 
Very ecclectic, folkloric and western style. I see this style often in childrens books and is fairly modern, or I guess contemporary, with its form choice. Nonethless, her works are wonderful and have such a semblance of hearty warmth to them. It feels good to view her art.
 
Kuchyn
 

 
Patterns on everything! This would be a fun kitchen to be in. I really enjoy how different the mans shirt and other guys pants are. I wonder if there was some mixed media used in this. It has a serious pronounced effect on the work and draws your attention.

As Bob Ross has said, “Not all tree’s are straight, give em some character,” which Zuzana has taken to heart here. These trees are all going in different directions, which when interlaced with the rest of the environment really brings about this heavy and kind of erratic feel. The characters are interesting and the movement produced by the angled forms really brings out an extra something from the piece. It has a “where the wild things are” vibe.
 
Kral Duchu
 

 
Love the up-side down face, this forced you to tilt your head and the scour the canvas to see the bevy of faces in the flowing hair and then re-adjust to the story being played out. Well done!
 
Bedside Table
 

 
Such a cute piece, great patterns and emotion involved. The lack of surrounding setting emboldens the focus on the characters and enhances them. The pointillism is done very well, giving that needed dimensionality to bring out the charisma of each character.
