Mavic Pro Drone Video #4 - Travelling around the Big Island- Hawaii 🌋🌴🌺

Hello Steemit family 👋 Today I want to share with you some drone footage we got on the Big Island of Hawaii! We are currently on the North Shore of Oahu enjoying our final week in this beautiful place. We spent 10 days on the Big Island and enjoyed it immensely! For anyone planning a trip to Hawaii be sure to include this Island!! Check out the drone footage we captured, unfortunately drones aren't allowed to be flown in the national parks here so we couldn't get any aerial shots of the volcanos and lava flow but pretty happy with what we did get! [put it into 4K quality if you screen can handle it] -

We stayed 5 nights in Hilo and 5 nights in Kona. I think most tourists go straight to Kona but Hilo is probably the easiest place to base yourself for volcano related activities. The Hilo side of the Island also has many picturesque waterfalls and beautiful coast line scenery but in all honesty to cross from one side to the other or to even circumnavigate the Island won't take you that long! Bear in mind this is coming from someone who lives in Australia and a 3hr drive is nothing to us haha.

🌋 A few fun facts about the Big Island -

💎 The Big Island is actually officially called Hawaii.
💎 It is home to the tallest volcano and tallest mountain in the world - Mauna kea. The base is roughly 6km below sea level
(roughly 20,000ft) and the summit is 4.2km (roughly 14,000ft) above sea level with a vertical distance of over 10,000metres!
💎 It is also home to the world's most active volcano, Kilauea. It has been erupting since 1983 and has created approximately 580
acres of new land. You can see lava spilling into the sea!
💎 Most of the Worlds' macadamia nuts are grown on the Island.
💎 The Big Island is over twice the size of all the other islands combined.
