My quest for a pointy mustache

Years ago my dad told me stories about my Great Grandfather using a tiny iron to curl the ends of his perfectly sculpted mustache.  He said he would sit in his Great Grandfathers lap in Deutschland thinking how cool it was.  Within the last few years I have changed my facial whiskers from long to short, full beards and full shaved.  Giving myself different looks from time to time.  I can remember the first time I went out with an old fashioned one.  A lady said "watch out for that guy"  and I was instantly labeled as a bad guy from a movie.  Here's a photo 

I later Realized that I would need to shape and nourish the hair giving it more room above my lip.  I also took to shaving around my face to lower the likelihood that I would be found out as a bad guy.  I still have a long way to go, however if anyone out there is a pro at stash shaping and has any tips, please leave them in the comment section.  Thanks!
