Those barrels will save you some money on your water bill, it all depends on how often it rains where you are. I have three on my yard and I will place another set next year. I have some standing up and I have some laying down and connected to each other, this connection is working better.
Not only this project will save you money but the water is healthier for your plants.
We get on average 40 inches of rain a year and another 15 inches of snow. I have to have covers on ours as if we had ours open like that it would be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Good point, man you get a lot of rain. I don't have mosquito problems in the waters, I use the water too quickly and it don't rain enough here in Alberta.
There is a reason they call it the wetlands lol
What if you put window screen over the tops?
Might work but I think I will keep them vertical to make it easier to keep them from breeding
