My Sketch: The Twin Churches at Piazza del Popolo, Rome

At first glance, the two churches look identical, but if you look closer, they are not. Each has its own design, but as they are so close together and look so similar, they earned the nickname: the Twin Churches. Their real names become less important to most tourists.
Both were constructed in the middle of the 17th century, both were commissioned by the same pope, designed by the same architect and funded by the same cardinal.
These two churches are located at the Piazza del Popolo, that's is the "People's Square", a large open square to the north of the city, yet is still within walking distance. this is also the beginning of the Via Flaminia, which is an ancient Roman road going up north to the Adriatic coast. The south Flaminia takes you back into the city, with shops and high fashion boutiques along its way.
