Remembering Old Christmas Gatherings

Museum of Memories

Collections of carefully preserved and a realization that day-by-day memories are being chosen for our museum.  Someone in the family needs to be conscious that memories are important, and that time can be made to have double value by recognizing that what is done today will be tomorrow’s memory.

It was 2 years ago when I shared this quote in my social media account. I shared it because what she has written is true.  My priceless  collections of gatherings  are indeed preserved in my mind and heart.

This year another memory  of gatherings will be added in my Museum. Among the gatherings I love is  Christmas reunion (who doesn't) it's really  one of my favorite occasion next to weddings. It's when I get to see and bond with my cousins and seldom seen relatives.   I remember how my Abuelita or Grandma would decorate her house. I so love the christmas lights all over the place, the fancy decorations, the Christmas Tree and the Nativity of Jesus. Different viands of sumptuous food were served and of course the favorite of many, the gift-giving haha< >)

 My uncles and aunties would play Christmas songs and I remember they would play the Ray Conniff Christmas album all day(still my favorite Christmas album until now). When they are done with listening,  the next thing they do is play the guitar and sing their hearts out. Oh, it was such a lovely moment. )   

Sadly, our Christmas gathering is way different now, because some are living abroad and some are celebrating christmas in heaven including my Mom.  Truly, we can only relive those days through  photos videos and memories. 

I'm still glad I was able to celebrate those magical moments with them. Those priceless memories will always be preserved in my Museum of Memories.
