West of Nowhere
i’ve got
a blank roadmap
a half-tank of gasoline
a cooler full of beer i don’t drink
i’m a-lookin’
for a partner
to ride shotgun
and play deejay
from the front seat
gonna drive west
toward the setting sun
until the land runs out
then maybe float across the sea

I love living in the midwest 98% of the time, but sometimes that wanderlust hits me and I want to follow in the (admittedly romanticized in my head) footsteps of my pioneer ancestors and explore new lands.
Wanderlust is a powerful thing. Someday, I'd like to make it to West Africa, to where my Ancestors are from.
That would be wonderful! I was fortunate enough to go to France after graduating from high school, but the rest of Europe is waiting for me to explore my roots. After getting to the U.S. most of my family settled the west.
Wow amazing
Thank you.
Nice, I can visualize it all. I love the scenery of the pic above I would love to drive to see that. I could also feel the easy laid back mood of this poem. Thanks for sharing @sumayyahsaidso.
