American Politicians are waging a war against the poor class in America

in #politics6 years ago

Access to healthcare is just one of the issues facing the 140 million people who live in poverty in the US today. Over the past two years, the has carried out a listening tour in dozens of states across this nation. We have met with tens of thousands of people from El Paso, Texas, to South Charleston, West Virginia, to Selma, Alabama, where we met Callie, gathering testimonies from poor people and listening to their demands for a better society.

My thoughts on this news

We live in a broken economic system where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The wealth inequality that has been created is worse today than any other time in global economic history. About 50% of Americans today live on less than $30k per year. Yet politicians choose to cut taxes for the rich and they want to cut spending on social programs like medicare/medicaid while increasing spending on things we do not need like the military. The only thing that these government actions will do is make wealth inequality much worse. The US Government has been taken over by the wealthy and their corporations and they do not care about poor people, all they care about is what can the government do to allow them to suck more money out of the economy to make them even richer. As things continue down this path the people at the bottom will eventually rise up and history will repeat itself...

The US has a growing black market for goods and services. Unfortunately I’ve been unable to tap into the local healthcare market. There are Dr.s out there that do work on cash basis- NOT $200+ a visit. Look at all the prepaid/virtual Medical services growing in the last 5yrs. People CAN change a system.

The problem stems from the idea/mentality that todays programs are to help. They are to help people down, not even to maintain or raise standards.
