In my previous post on City Life VS Island Life, many comments mentioned that you prefer the mountains more than any other ways of living. The spectacular scenery of the high ground elevates your minds along with freeing your soul to the nature gave me asperations to travel to Chiang-mai on this journey of wanderlust pockets.

Chiang-mai is listed as one of the top most desirable destination in my region. Initially, I was planning to conquer Doi Inthanon National Park on my travel check lists but was only able to visit one-fourth of the root to the foremost tip of this county.

The River whisper

just introduced its tree house friendly style vacation spot starting from mid 2017. It is a family run by locals operated with warm welcome, pleasant gesture that makes this place favorable among visitors. Its special features includes giant woods and fresh water creek that originated from a hilltop waterfall. There are 3-4 accommodations style to be booked accordingly to the amount of guests and style they want to choose from. As we started our journey here; after landed at CNX Airport, we drove up here using Google map just by typing the location on to the application. It is approximately 60 kilometers from our arriving point. The Car rental price is no more than 900 baht for a reasonable ride. If you prefer not to drive, you can rent vans for bigger crew or an Uber can be taken for about 700 baht but my dubious notion is where they did not mention anything about how to get back into the city after the lodge stay.

During our stay we went down to the creek and enjoy the natural flow from a waterfall above. The water was clean. I love the swing by the tree while handing my feet, dipping into such freshness. I even washed my face and had a drank a bit of it. The older women who takes care of the properties were so nice and they explained that they are locals and lived there their whole lives. They live so simple yet happily. I can see it from their smiles and the minimal wrinkles on their faces. To be in tune with nature is such a precious thing. We may think that they have so little but actually they are filled with so much.

I wasn't able to take pictures of those women and barely knew only few of their names. They were very shy and I didn't wanted to force them. At the end of the day, they cooked us a nice meal with pork BBQ. We sat by the balcony and looked into the dark with with little glimpse on lights from fireflies. Everything was so peaceful.

I fell asleep extremely early after taking a really cold shower. The next day, woke up with so much joy and appreciation. Adventure likes these are so important to get my mindset back to alignment of what living is meant for. when we are so used to certain lifestyles and continuously distracted by the city to approach a pattern that's expected. We forget that life is ours and there's no formula for happiness and what is needed for it.
