Hello Steemians !

Have been active on Steemit since a few weeks now and thought about introducing myself in much more detail as will now be very much active here.

My name is Sudip Nair, age 25, born and brought up in the city of Mumbai, India. As a child I used to be a total introvert who preferred to be a loner and rather not discuss nonsense. However, this did not stop me from playing outdoor games such as cricket and football in our building playgrounds with friends. They both used to be my favorite sport and still are. Academics wise I was pretty good scoring in the range of 80's to 90's and sometimes even above the 90 percentage mark.

Childhood days were the MOST awesome days I had in my life and can still vividly recall many memorable moments even after all these years. I am a foodie and Pav-Bhaji is my favorite dish. It is an Indian speciality and all of you who are reading this post MUST try it once. Just the smell of the it makes one's mouth water.

Still remember those days I used to spend watching entire cricket and football matches even if there were exams the very next day itself ! Also used to be a HUGE fan of manga/anime like the whole series of Pokemon and Dragonball Z. Not only did I NEVER miss a single episode.. but also played EVERY single online/offline role playing game both of these anime's ever had. The craze was just too much in gaming when it came to these and other addicting games like FIFA and much more.

Then for college I decided to pursue the science stream and take up engineering as a degree later on as I liked Mathematics very much and it was my favorite subject. I know now that just by having a liking towards Math and deciding to pursue Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering is pretty lame.. but no point in crying over spilled milk as they say !

The 4 years of engineering were among the MOST boring and toughest of my entire life. The early hype of engineering that I had completely vanished and I somehow or the other managed to scrape through the degree flunking only once in 1 subject which I quickly cleared next semester.

During the days of engineering, I again got addicted towards gaming and this time clan gaming in the form of DOTA, which is the world's most popular MMORPG. I literally became a connoisseur of gaming at that point of time rather than focusing on my studies which I totally lost interest with the lack of quality teaching and study resources. In the end managed to FINISH the engineering degree with a first class grade.

At the end of our last semester of engineering was the campus placements and I failed in the aptitude test of TCS. Did not even bother studying for any aptitude test at all but was preparing for the technical rounds. Then later on I managed to clear the aptitude test of a Digital Marketing Company named Convonix. I was selected for the job interview at that company and became very excited as this was an opportunity for me to get my first job !!

At the job interview I was interviewed by one of the Co-Founders of the company himself along with the Senior HR. After asking basic information about me, they questioned my intention to get into marketing after studying engineering. I replied to them that the purpose of education is to improve our logic, makes us creative and help us think outside the box to become problem solvers. They were very impressed with the reply and I finally got the job.

During the initial weeks, we had training in advanced Microsoft Excel and I learned quite a lot over there. The worst phase in the beginning was when the CEO of the company asked all of us to introduce ourselves. When my turn came, I plainly and honestly said that it was a great honor for me to be working for the company as it was one of India's best digital marketing agencies. Mind you this was way back in 2013. The CEO sarcastically told me that he would see to it how long I would feel that way. I was very annoyed by his reply and deeply hurt at the same time.

We received basic training in SEO, PPC, SEM, Social Media, SMM, ORM, OBM and other elements of digital marketing. At that time I was a total newbie to the world of business and marketing as I was just an engineering passout. After the training finished, I was placed into the SEO team as an Assistant Project Manager. We worked on a few projects but my stint at the company was very short term as I understood that I lacked the business acumen needed to succeed in the online marketing space and was finding it difficult to cope up.

Then decided to do a PGDM in International Business in Canada after scoring a 7 in the IELTS. Did projects on international trade research, international market entry, global marketing, supply chain management, professional communication, project management and a variety of other subjects during my course there. Also received 3 letters of recommendation out of which I have attached two here Letter of reference- Professor Rhonda Payne.jpeg

Unfortunately my health worsened at that time after I completed my Canadian degree and thus could not find a job in Canada but was forced to come back to India for months of treatment. My weight dropped from around 80 kgs to 53 kgs at that point of time.. which was around the beginning of 2015. Went into depression and faced a lot of physical and mental trauma. Was forced to consume anti-depressants and visit a number of counselors and psychiatrists. I was also sent to the hospital to receive electric shocks for a period of ten days as there was something tremendously wrong with my mental condition. The doctors said it was schizophrenia.. but in reality it was just a sunken feeling of total depression and fear where everything in the world seemed wrong to me. After all the hardwork I had put in at my international business degree in Canada, this was what I got in the end due to bad health.

A few months of treatment and depression, insomnia passed when one fine day I was watching television sitting on the rocking chair at home to make myself feel a bit relaxed. My mother then gave me a pretty interesting book to read by the name of ' A Science of Self Realization '. You will not believe me.. but I had plans of committing suicide about 2-3 times during those times of severe depression until I got that one book which changed my life for the better.

It was a book written by one of the greatest spiritual masters of all time on the ancient transcendental science of spirituality. Long forgotten secrets of our sacred Vedic heritage were revealed in a very short and lucid manner which made the book more than interesting to read. This aroused my curiosity to new levels and all the signs of depression and even insomnia slowly began to fade away. I took up a part time job as a Math and Physics professor and at the same time decided to pursue online business in network marketing along with blogging as my full-time career rather than working for any separate company as an employee.

Maybe I was meant to become my own boss for a reason. Was then introduced to cryptocurrency and began researching about it and blockchain a LOT. Thus came upon Steemit too on my way and here I am introducing myself and my past to all of you !!!
I also do a couple of other online businesses simultaneously full time and am not an employee anywhere.

Aas far as my vision/ future plans are concerned, I wish to have my own agricultural/dairy farm and learn farm/dairy management. There are many reasons I wish to do this. First of all the quality of food and drink is very bad especially in countries in India where I am residing now with the pollution and adulteration involved.

I am also planning to create a new system of villages which will be smart villages also known as ECO VILLAGES. This is one of my big dreams in the future where people can be self sufficient with the help of agriculture, dairy and a resource based economy rather than focusing too much on economic development. I have attached a picture below which will give a small idea of how I want the village ecosystem to look like and operate.

Anyways, this was almost everything about myself.. hope all of you enjoyed reading and looking forward to make quality connections here on Steemit and share, discuss a lot of cool and important stuff !!!

Cheers

The world needs more like you. We need green space and farms. Not speaking of factory farms but family small farms. It is sad how things have become. I am from a farming background here in the US. Bless you Sudip
