Paradoxurus hermaphroditus is another name of the civet species better known as the civet mongoose.
In Indonesia this animal is known by some names such as Weasel (Betawi), Careuh (Sunda), and Luwak or Luak (Java). In English the animal is called Common Palm Civet, Mentawai Palm Civet, Common Weasel, House Weasel or Toddy Cat.
Another fact that Luwak has some kind of odor comes from a gland near its anus. This smell resembles the fragrant leaves of pandanus, that is what makes this animal known as paradoxurus hermaphroditus in scientific language.
This animal has been preserved with the most amazing art of the nation's children.
