For every great civilization, there is always a distinctive feature that sets it apart from the rest. From the Egyptian Empire characterized by their “jaw dropping” architectural structures to the Aztecs which were famous for their bloodletting skills and notorious for their patterns of human sacrifices.
That same distinguishing factor goes for every span of time in history and none has defined the last three decades better than the Internet for the impact it has had on our everyday life. The internet has succeeded in tearing down barriers in communication and information transfer and has succeeded in redefining the business landscape. But, as with every other great civilization and inventions of the past, the loopholes are becoming more distinct as the days go by. The major issues that users have pointed out is related to insecurity and lack of privacy. If you do not live under a rock, I will like to believe you have heard of the blockchain technology. It is no news that blockchain technology is relatively new and only started earning rave views within the decade. This directly means that there is shortage of professionals with the technical skills required to successfully develop dApps for enterprises, that is if we decide to ignore the cost implications which could be dire.
Companies also face difficult barriers to the production of smart contracts because the bulk of the framework of blockchain still remains at the stage of formation. The direct consequence of this is that companies still face a lot of difficulties in the production of smart contracts and ledgers. All these difficulties have the capability of diverting attention from the key goals of the business which will definitely reduce efficiency.
Finally, focus on the underlying technology usually lead to ignoring of the quality of user interface and general consumers experience.
