Pay It Forward

If you've been following my posts, you might be aware that I am currently in the process of moving. I am also in a transition period with life and work in general.

That's why, when yesterday the only stroller we have for the baby became a casualty of war, it was like a kick in the gut. Strollers are not cheap, so we went for a second hand one. Upon examination, everything looked great and seemed to work great too.. until yesterday.

Who knows if it was longtime wear & tear or an instant snap, but the main safety bar broke... You know, the one across the front that makes sure your infant child doesn't just tumble out to his or her sudden doom.

Anyway, it meant the main way of carting our little one around was no longer applicable. My wife put a quick request on FB asking if anyone had one for sale. But we didn't have the time or money to head out to the big shopping malls outside of town.

It was looking like it was going to be another financial setback, let alone finding the time to search for a new one... Then this morning there was a gift outside the door. Someone had seen our plea on FB and decided to donate their stroller to us completely free of obligation.. no stipulations!

Even though the generous donor decided to remain anonymous, I wish to express my deep-felt gratitude. Life can overwhelm us at times, and it's easy to be cynical and think that everyone is out to get us. Simple thoughtful selfless acts can renew your faith in all of humanity. Yes, the world is tough sometimes, but we are all in this together. Kindness can be invigorating. The best form of energy. Be a beacon to others and light up someone life today. Take time to reflect on the small deeds that can go a long way, and then look for ways to..
