Vote for community app

I'm in love with Steemit. I'm a software engineer of 16 years and have spent the last 7 years or so focusing on iOS/Android apps, blockchains, and virtual reality. I'd like to propose an idea I've had over the last week that, whilst a bit crazy at first thought, could be a neat experiment. It goes something like this -

I offer my programming expertise to you, the Steemit community, in full. Through your up votes, you will drive the development of a steemit project (or any project for that matter) of the community's choosing that it would like to see developed and launched. It could be mobile app, a new steemit web reader, or even a virtual reality app - really, it's not up to me but instead the voting community. Each week I create a video of the project's progress and upload for comments. Through voting, the project will be steered into the next week of development.

What do you all think? Any ideas on how we could flesh out the general rules of this system? I'm open for discussion.
