His response convinces me of something that intuition warned me, good intentions are not enough to form communes, it is like creating a kind of Babel, the time comes when the parties are formed and each one is directed towards interests other than the initial ones . I have never had experiences like the ones you have lived, but I am empathetic and perceptive. In theory, ecovillages are wonderful, but practice indicates that there is much to grow internally. However, fear of risk, for me, should not be a limit, I think it is worth risking to experience, as you have done. It must be an enriching experience. My answer, for this question of the week tends to this: Who said fear?

I also think that lots of these difficulties have to do with the fact that many people are simple not used to sharing. And I don't mean sharing a birthday cake, but more like sharing their space and their lives together. Everyone has their own idea, which they consider the only viable option. Tower of Babel? I suppose too many cooks spoil the broth. But then again, people SHOULD be cooks, that is leaders, each in their own way. Figuring out how to do that, while letting everyone else contribute to the whole without taking away... now THAT'S a skill.

Life is a process, and it always fits, though it may not always be a comfortably perfect fit, but that's why we can always adjust it. I can look in the mirror and feel good about not lying to myself (so Anubis won't get to feed his pet crock Ammit, at least not with my soul). And if my wife appreciates it too, then it's actually me who's really lucky. :-)
That's a really lovely way of looking at it. I'm sure Ammit is already very well fed and not needing your soul. LOL
