New Streaming slot
Okay folks, so I’ve decided to start streaming on a Sunday instead, with a view for me to eventually move out of that slot to be replaced by the ‘Super Sunday Stream’ in the future. This means that I have 3-6+ more months to plan out my solo streaming slots, whilst getting people used to the idea of a stream being on a Sunday, although the SSS will only be fortnightly, rather than weekly. The time slot for the solo stream will probably fit in around the middle to end of the SSS slot, so people will be aware of the finishing time at least. Additionally, I’m putting a hard limit on ‘team streams’ for 4 people, so within that format, there will be 2-4 people on each slot, depending on who is available at the time. There might be more than 4 co-hosts though, and I do definitely want to provision for guests as well, but that depends on multiple factors I’m not yet able to determine.
Additionally, I should say that any Stormhaven Media podcasts will probably have a limit of 3 co-hosts, with an occasional guest making up the 4th slot where it works out, but more typically, it’ll be a max of 3. As for why it’s 4 for a stream, it’s partly to facilitate team play (be that a team of 4, or 2v2), but also because 4 seems like a better number for team streams anyway, but any more than that and things just get messy and hard to track! I do want to eventually roll out a system for all of this, but right now, this is all just stuff planned for the future. Either way, with my plans, I have given myself 3 months to worry about moving over to my first solo slot, and then 6 months to work out a second slot, which in theory should mean that I should plenty of space to work things out further.
I’ll make an announcement later about the time I’ve decided for Sundays, but I will say that Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is still on the cards for the upcoming stream, seeing as it seems to run alright under Linux! However, I have noticed a bit of choppiness when using the remastered visuals, so I need to work out what is going on there. I should also note that unfortunately, OBS.Live is not currently available for Linux, so I’ll be doing my regular setup for OBS, unless I find a way to replicate what it does. I will reiterate that I’m only doing a solo stream once a week on Twitch, with the other solo stream being on other platforms. I’ll detail which ones they are once I set up my RTMP server and can work out which platforms I can stream to at the same time, although I will note that I can’t respond to text on all platforms, given that not everything is supported under OBS! In any case, this needs further thinking about, especially as I only have a little under 3 months to get things working! That said however, if anyone wants to comment as to what platform other than Twitch they’d like to see me on, I’m open to suggestions.
I do have a list of platforms I’m able to stream on, but I’m not aware of the popularity or demand of them. If I don’t receive any feedback on this, I’ll pretty much go through my list (which I’ll mention another time) and see what sticks. I am going to try to stream on multiple platforms (number to be determined) on the other slot though, seeing as I’m not constrained by a 24 hour exclusivity agreement, like I am on Twitch. In any case, the research for this starts now. I hope to see you all on Sunday’s stream, if not a future one, so until then, I’ll see you later on.
