God's Attitude Toward Us

God, when faced with the reality of the fallen (angels and human beings that turned against Him), could not allow their disobedience to be left unchecked. Perhaps He could have just extinguished their very existence, or dispatched them to some far away place, or possibly just ignore the situation in the hope that they would see what they had done and contritely return to God as good and faithful creations of God.
In reality God did all of those things – He chose to address the situation by experiencing life and death as a human being.
God, in the name of Jesus Christ entered into the world the same way that we all have, and died, gasping for His last breath the same way that every other human being must.
His was an ignominious, painful, and horrific death that He did not, necessarily have to endure.
But He did endure it, and He rose from that death as a way of addressing the decisions of the fallen in an attempt to get them to contritely return to God as good and faithful creations of God.
The next step in His plan is for us to make our decision based on what He did. We could either become extinguished of our very existence and be dispatched to some far away place, or recognize Jesus Christ and the life that he chose to live (and die) and acknowledge that by following Him in life (and death) we can achieve what He intended for us – immortality with Him, with God in Heaven.
