Just an Update on Why We Love Old Vintage Silver Bars, Sometimes You Pick Up Some Winners !

I Purchased a Silver Bar about a Year Ago and at the Time I did not Think Much About it nor did I have any Knowledge of it's Rarity if at All. At The Time I Bought it at the LCS (Local Coin Shoppe) I picked this Silver Bar Up for about $18.00 Along With a Number of Other Silver Bars...........

So I was Going to List The Silver Bar to Sell. I did not Research What This Silver Bar Was Worth Mostly Because It was Cleaned and Had a Little Ding on the Corner..........

I Thought Well There is Probably Nothing That Special About This Silver Bar, Was I Wrong, Someone Bought it From Me for $60.00..........

Finally found your post. Another fascinating obscure bar, you got to document this into a great silver bar resource guide one of these days. I think you have a marvelous gift of finding these bars.

8 years ago I bought a 100oz silver bar. Not knowing anything about the company that made it or any of these silver companies really. The bar I had was from Bonneville Metals in Bonneville Washington right there on the Colombia River. Another silver company that has been out of business making silver bars for decades. This bar was so old I traced it back to around the mid to late 60s when it was made. Maybe early 70s. It had a low serial number too. Number 3124 I think. Something like that, I forget the number now because I no longer have the bar. But I bet being an old bar from a company that no longer exists would make it a collectible. sigh I miss that silver bar. But I got a beautiful gold 1895 Double Eagle gold coin now so I'm in good shape. :-)

I feel like a dipshit now too because the entire time, the 5 years I lived in Oregon and Washington I not once EVER visited Bonneville to see the dam and where the building was that they poured the silver bars. I'm sure all that stuff is still there.

I Love Hearing Stories Like this because it Makes People want to get Out and Look for Treasurers......

I don't think I ever took one picture of it either. I just wonder how much it is really worth? It was a cool old bar but I still bought it at spot price so I doubt someone would of given me more for it. I bought it when silver was high too making one of the WORST mistakes of my life.

Pro moves boss!

Very cool bar and that you made some cash on it. Still trying to figure out what the HEART stands for. The about us didn't really go into it. Nice score and profit!
